On July 13th, Tori Amos will be releasing a brand new live DVD of her performance for the critically acclaimed Artist Den series. The second season kicks off July 5th, check your local listings.

The Artist Den series features an intimate, invite only concert from contemporary musicians. The series airs weekly and includes artist interviews and history about the chosen venue.

Tori Amos’ performance was filmed this past December for an audience of 100 fans at the breathtaking Veterans Rooms of New York’s Park Avenue Armory. Her episode premieres the week of July 12 coupled with the release of the DVD.

The DVD features:

-The full private concert recorded at Park Avenue Armory on December 9, 2009, including two songs not shown in the TV broadcast.
-Full 20 minute interview with Tori by music journalist Alan Light
-Tour of the Veterans Room with Tori and the head of the Armory
-34 page hardbound book package
-A postcard print handwritten by Tori

Other artist featured on the new season include Corrinne Bailey Rae, The Black Crowes, Booker T, the Drive-By Truckers and more.

Tori Amos Festival Hopping

Tori Amos is taking a break after touring and the release of her 2009 Abnormally Attracted to Sin and holiday album Midwinter Graces. You will find her hopping around a few different festivals this summer.

These dates include:

Bonnaroo, Manchester Tennessee, June 11, 2010
Live at Sunset, Zurich Switzerland, July 14, 2010
Pori Jazz Festival, Pori, Finland, July 23, 2010

Amos has also just announced a single performance at Crocus Hall, Moscow, Russia, September 3, 2010. (How do you say,” I need Tori Amos tickets,” in Russian?!)

Abnormally Attracted to Sin marked Tori’s tenth studio album and seventh album to debut in Billboard’s 200 top 10.

Other projects she is currently working on include writing the music for Samuel Adamson’s musical adaptation of the George MacDonald story The Light Princess for the Royal National Theatre, and recording vocals for two songs for David Byrne’s collaboration album with Fatboy Slim, entitled Here Lies Love.

Amos’ tour at full speed

Tori Amos, who began her tour for the album “Abnormally Attracted to Sin,” has been touring steadily since early July, though she’s nowhere close to being finished! She still has to visit (among others) Australia, Germany, Poland, Belgium, France, Italy, Austria, and the UK. Amos’ last U.S. concert will be on Aug. 17 in Boston, Mass.

Despite admitting that she’s attracted to sin in the title, the album actually offers her thoughts on what it’s like to be a modern woman in the current times.

“Instead of a commentary on our time, which American Doll Posse was in many ways, this is an emotional read of a woman’s perspective when everything changed — when the world as we know it changed,” Amos said.

Tori Amos hits the road this week

Tori Amos kicked off her summer tour this week, with plans to travel through most of the West Coast and the South in mid-July, and up the East Coast and into Canada through August.

Amos is traveling behind her album “Abnormally Attracted to Sin,” which was released in May. The album is her tenth effort, and her first on the Universal Republic record label.

A deluxe version of the album includes a digital booklet and a DVD of episodic films - one for each track. The first two singles from the collection are “Welcome to England” and “Fire to Your Plain.”

“American Doll Posse” was the last release from the singer/songwriter, which was put out in 2007.

After her U.S. tour, she will travel abroad to perform in Amsterdam and Vienna.
